  • My Final Major Project revolves around the concept of a world devoid of human presence. It delves into the imaginative exploration of what would remain if the human race were to go extinct and how nature would flourish in our absence.

Created during the challenging times of the pandemic, this collection posed many obstacles. However, these challenges often lead to opportunities for creative problem-solving, resulting in an outcome that I’m very proud of.

To bring my vision to life, I used a range of techniques, including; digital printing, screen printing, machine embroidery, hand embroidery, and hand beading, showcasing my versatility as an artist. I took great care in the fabrics I chose, opting for hand-dyeing methods using remnant fabrics and end-of-rolls, and any digital fabrics were sustainable. This conscious choice not only minimized the environmental impact of my collection but also added to the overall artistic narrative.

I chose to create this as a children to teens unisex collection, I enjoy designing for children as I find you are able to experiment more with bold prints, clashing patterns and vivid colours. The other factor behind this decision is the subject matter, the damage done to the environment by previous generations is now in the hands of these young people who are fighting this battle against climate change that they didn’t start. I wanted to acknowledge this by creating this collection with them in mind.
