Shopping from big brands is easy, one click and boom - next-day delivery. But here’s the thing… it’s also SUPER boring. Everything looks the same, feels the same and ends up in everyone’s home.
Shopping small? That’s where things getting interesting! When you buy a print (or any creative little gem) from an independent creative, you’re not just filling a blank space on your wall, you’re getting something with actual personality, something that actually feels like you.
So why bother shopping small?
-
No more cookie-cutter vibes - Small businesses make things you won’t find in every other house on your street. Products are designed with intention, not churned out by the thousands.
-
It’s personal - Your order doesn’t disappear into some giant system. A real person (hi, it’s me 👋) sees it, packages it and send it on it's way out of the studio.
-
Planet > profit - A lot of small creatives (myself included) care about how things are made. Less waste, more conscious choices and art that doesn’t cost the earth.
-
Your walls deserve personality - Mass-produced “Live Laugh Love” canvases don’t spark joy. Bold prints, funky colours and imperfectly perfect designs? Now that’s the vibe.
Big Picture
Shopping small isn’t about “being worthy” or doing charity - it’s about getting cool, original stuff that actually feels good to own. You’re supporting creativity, not corporations. You’re choosing fun, not filler. And honestly? Your house will thank you.
Also side note, I won't be doing a "happy dance" when your order comes in as I see so often used in relation to small businesses. But I will pay my rent and bills, I'll feel encouraged and motivated to create more work and I will care so deeply when sending your order out the door!
